Chaplaincy is about service to God and humanity. It could not be less, in a world ravaged by poverty, terrorism, crime, the uncertain future.

As The Rosicrucian Order says, service to God and humanity is a thankless job. The order is correct, if you take the time to think and observe your surroundings.

Ungrateful or not, we have a duty to serve as this is the salary we have to pay for our existence at this time in our world.

Away from all this, corporate chaplaincy in Nigeria has come a long way. He still has a long way to go to reach the promised land.

The truth is that there are millions, if not billions of jobs in our country for qualified job seekers who are prepared to serve.

Dr. Tunde Bankole, Chaplain General of the Universal Chaplain Corps and Rescue Mission, said that there are more than 300 corporate chaplaincies that have existed in Nigeria in the last 37 years.

He noted that premium times, an online news portal based in Abuja, Nigeria, reported that there are 36 million registered companies registered by the corporate affairs commission, to run all kinds of businesses in our country.

Fantastic opportunities for chaplains, who are ready to serve in these companies, with or without pay.

Yes, there are chaplains who serve in police formations, hospitals, churches, mosques, government agencies, disaster areas, etc.

Bankole also threw other bombs.

He said officials from the more than 300 chaplaincies in Nigeria should join, join, get formal training and get certificates.

These will ensure that they are professionals who will then demand payment for their services.

Is this possible, visible in Nigeria, where some chaplains dream or own their own corporate team? Time will tell.

He also said during the annual chaplaincy conference he organized in Lagos, Nigeria, that there is not a single chaplain serving in the various IDP camps in Nigeria.

I may be right, I may be wrong, I’ll do background checks or due diligence later.

This is where another great job for chaplains comes in. terrorists, kidnappers, armed robbers, cattle thieves, hired assassins, communal confrontations and other forms of delinquency have ‘ravaged’ our beloved country in recent times.

This is where chaplains, who really want to serve, will come in handy.

We need them, they need us especially at this time when our president is trying to right all the wrongs and solve the crimes in our country.

Nigeria, our beloved country, must not be invaded by terrorists and criminals.
