All the great achievers, all the successful people, are those who have been able to gain control over their time. It has been said that all human beings have been created equal in one respect; each person has been given 24 hours each day.

We have to choose to give our best to our most challenging situation. It’s not how much we do that matters; it’s how much we do. We should choose to look at our time, not our watch. One of the best time savers is the ability to say no. Not saying no when you should is one of the biggest time wasters you will ever experience.

Don’t spend a dollar’s worth of time for ten hundred’s worth of results.

Make sure you take care of the vulnerable moments of your days. These vulnerable moments are first thing in the morning and last thing at night. I heard a minister say that the way a person is at midnight when they are all alone reveals that person’s true self.

Never allow yourself to say, “I could be doing big things if I wasn’t so busy doing little things!” Take control of your time. The more control you have over your time, the more freedom you will experience in your life. The psalmist prayed: Teach us thus to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom (Ps. 90:12).

People always say: “I would give anything for power…” There is a basic principle of leadership that says: “6×1=6”. If you want to write a book, learn to play a musical instrument, become a better tennis player, or do anything else important, you need to spend an hour a day, six days a week, on a project. Sooner than you think, what you wish for will come true. There aren’t many things one person can’t accomplish in 312 hours a year!

Remember that the future comes one hour at a time. Take control of your time, and you will gain control of your life.
