Youth Into Future Global Leaders

A growing number of organizations and government agencies are devoted to transforming Sudanese youth into future global leaders. Such programs and initiatives include Al Mustakbal, Moving Forward Sudan, Al Sudaniya Mentoring, and Sol For Change. In addition to helping young Sudanese thrive, these initiatives aim to develop the skills of young people to be employable in their own country. The following are some of the key objectives of such programs.

Al-Mustakbal: The foundation’s mission is to facilitate opportunities and equip young people with the skills and experiences needed to excel in the global labour market. They offer professional and academic support to these students and seek to foster ties between Sudan and the diaspora community. With these programs, the young people of Sudan are better equipped to compete in the global labour market. And as the economy continues to recover, Al-Mustakbal is working on expanding its reach and making it a global organization.

Talent Sudan

This is why Sudan needs to empower a new giving generation willing to translate the chants of the street protests into the unsung work of public service. Mobilizing tax revenue is crucial for resolving the current crisis in Sudan, while auditing government budgets can weed out corruption and improve economic growth. If these young people are willing to do their part, Sudan’s future may depend on them.

Sol: A young arts and culture movement in Sudan, the group organized three exhibitions in the University of Khartoum. In addition to the art exhibitions, they organized a two-hour discussion with students from the Faculty of Architecture. More than 20 students took part in the discussion, and the audience gave their feedback on the young artists in Sudan and the urgency of action. The group has partnered with the Ministry of Education to implement this project.

The project is part of a larger initiative, called the Food Systems Ignite Challenge, to invest in local solutions that strengthen food systems. The project is being phased out in six phases, beginning with a pitch competition and seed funding to test out concepts in the field. As part of the final phase, nine pitches will be selected to receive seed funding to advance their projects. And, all nine pitching winners will receive at least $50,000 in seed funding for their ideas.

Young Talent Programs Sudan

The Al Sudaniya Mentoring Project focuses on developing young females in Sudan. The program was founded in August 2013 and has a mission to engage and empower young females to become future leaders in their communities. The program is part of a wider project that works with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The Youth Empowerment Initiative (FEI) has been a successful model in many post-conflict environments. It teaches young people how to navigate societal norms, values, and structures in post-conflict settings. Youth are capable of being the agents of positive peace. They are capable of acting as peace brokers, mediators, and community mobilisers. However, this transformation process must be targeted over the long term to ensure lasting impact.
