Like other LED TV displays, the ultra-clear panel design enhances the appearance of skin tones, which is a nice touch while watching movies or playing video games. If you are playing some games, try using the Game Mode feature to improve the visibility of darker areas. Your gaming experience will look very smooth thanks to the clear 240Hz motion rate. It’s an improvement on 120Hz on-screen motion technology, so you should see the benefit when watching sports.

There is an Ethernet connector located on the back of the Samsung UN55C8000. Taking advantage of this feature allows you to connect to many of your favorite websites so you don’t have to connect an HTPC. Almost all the major sites are covered, including Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, eBay, Yahoo! and various others. You have to choose from a set of on-screen widgets for easy navigation. The Amazon Video On Demand component allows subscribers to place their video orders online so you can stream them directly. This requires the Smart TV Skype Camera plugin and is quite advanced capable of recording 720p HD video. There is also a wireless LAN adapter so you can connect to wireless routers. Bottom line
55-inch screens are great if they are packed with so many features. It does a great job with 3D thanks to the backlit LED screen. Once you have the Samsung 3D Active glasses and 3D Blu-ray player, you’re good to go. But you can still enjoy Internet features if you still can’t take advantage of 3D features.
