Both Dugi and Zygor are knowledgeable and well-made World of Warcraft guides. But like any other product, both have their pros and cons. Read on to find out the differences between these two popular WoW guides.
Installation: Zygor Guides takes the cake for installation efficiency and easy upgrades. Dugi’s installation is more complicated than Zygor’s. One of the advantages of Zygor Guides is that they update automatically, whereas, as with Dugi, the user must manually reinstall certain plugins. Dugi could be a bit better if the company implemented automatic software updates.
Try before you buy: Dugi Guides will get you to level 40 for free, while Zygor Guides free trial ends only at level 13. For some, this is inefficient, because even beginning players can level up to 13 in less than a day Dugi wins hands down when it comes to allowing players to try the guide before buying it.
Pricing – While high prices don’t mean quality on each and every product, it’s worth noting that Dugi costs less than Zygor. It is up to the player to decide which guide works best for them. But Dugi Guides offers alliance and horde gathering guides for a fixed price, while Zygor Guides sells each guide separately. Dugi Guides prices start around $97 per game, while Zygor Guide prices individually, starting around $50. Dugi beats Zygor in the pricing department.
The Guides – While price and installation are important aspects, most players are genuinely interested in knowing what the guides are. How do they work? Are they efficient? Here is a brief summary of the pros and cons of Zygor and Dugi.
Features offered by both guides:
- Both Zygor and Dugi have navigation pointers that are displayed on the screen during gameplay and help guide players in the right direction.
- Both guides instruct players on which quests to continue, how many mobs the player needs to get rid of, and how many items to collect.
Dugi Guide Pros and Zygor Guide Cons:
- Dugi Guides has an icon that appears on the screen during a mission that allows the player to click on the icon instead of searching through their bags. Zygor offers a similar icon, but it’s much smaller.
- Dugi marks quests as completed or allows you to skip them. Zygor Guides only allows the player to skip missions.
- Dugi allows you to decide whether to skip a mission, while Zygor will decide for you if he sees that there is nothing of value to the player in that particular mission. While this can help level players up, some players may not like Zygor making decisions for them.
Zygor pros and Dugi cons:
- Zygor keeps track of which paths have already been completed, even when the game is not in use. Dugi simply ignores these paths and focuses only on the current level. This can make navigation difficult as a player needs to go back.
- Zygor Guides can keep the player stuck with mobs and flight paths even if the player has leveled up. Meanwhile, Dugi Guides assumes that you’ve skipped a particular quest, which can cause the player to spend more time trying to figure out why mobs aren’t dropping certain items.
- Zygor tells the player what’s coming up in the game, while Dugi simply provides information about the quest and the current situation.
Extras: Both Dugi and Zygor go beyond simply being an in-game guide. Both offer subscription-based extras, but Dugi offers a bit more than Zygor. For example, one extra that Dugi offers that Zygor doesn’t are profession guides. Dugi offers guides for each profession, while Zygor offers only one. But Zygor offers articles on auction houses and gold guides.
