Versions of the word “angel” are found in many different languages around the world. The Greek word angelos is translated as “messenger” and is considered the basis of modern literary interpretations.
The concept of angels has been around since before we started marking time and long before any organized religion. Angels appear in writings from many cultures, where they are described as powerful, winged beings that resemble humans. They are also messengers between God and man. It is believed that everyone receives two guardian angels at birth.
In Christian literature, angels predate the creation of Earth, as the first War in Heaven occurred sometime before the seven days that God spent creating the world.
In the 13th century, angels were included in paintings and literature, when it was believed that angels moved the stars and ruled the planets. Some of the angels from movies and books are as follows:

Types of angels:
There are many types of angels. Most don’t even come into contact with the human race. Only a small group has the privilege of guiding humans.
The first order includes the seraphim, who serve at the feet of God and sing his praises.
The second are the cherubs. They exist beyond the throne. They are the guardians of the light and the stars. They are the guardians of all knowledge and secrets, both divine and earthly.
The thrones are practically the judges of divine law and pass sentence on the guilty. These are the last of the rung.
Angels of the Cosmos. The second house of angels maintains an orderly unification between the spiritual and corporeal universes. This call allows angels to pass often between the two planes of existence. These angels will sometimes, but rarely, come into contact with humanity, which magnifies their risk of compromising on man’s shortcomings. The purest are the most susceptible to impurity.
The second chori in the hierarchy are the Domains. Its main purpose is to maintain the lines of communication between the spiritual and material worlds so that, when the Word descends from the Creator, it will spread clearly and quickly throughout the universe.
Next are the Virtues, which act as channelers for vast energies of the Creator and His most intimate orders. His job is to pour out the endless supply of spiritual energy from the Heavens to the material worlds, where it can seep into the collective human consciousness and bestow blessings.
The last among the Angels of the Cosmos are the Powers. Supervisors of all the laws that govern the physical realm, they are the guardians of peace, harmony, and order. They are known to keep track of the births and deaths of God’s followers throughout history and have historical knowledge of the world. The Powers patrol the borders of Heaven and before their fall, Samael, used to be their leader.
The final house of the angels is called the Angels of Earth, yet they are involved with all the affairs of humanity. His presence is almost a constant in the daily life of humans, listening and influencing. Principalities are the bearers of the social mores necessary for successful poetics and administration within the earthly realm. They specialize in working with large groups and creating positive energies for relationships to flow.
The Archangels are the second level of the Angels of the Earth, and they are the best known of the angelic orders. They answer prayers, that’s why people know them.
The final order of this group is simply called Angels. Its focus is the tutelage of humanity and the entire material world.
