Today, a budget phone can be described as a phone that provides a lot of features beyond what it costs. It saves the user time, money and anxiety trying to figure out how it works or having trouble understanding what the functions do. There are two major smartphones that are bringing the above tributes and surprisingly their prices are also coming down and it can be said that they are affordable because of what you can do with them.

Droid X, Droid Incredible and the Droid. These are the different versions of the successful smartphone manufactured by Motorola and that has catapulted the company to the top of the mobile phone chain. It has a 4.3-inch WVGA screen that is well designed and provides excellent screen viewing. For easy connectivity, the left side of the device has a minimal USB port and an even smaller HDMI port in the bottom corner. The beauty of the Droid lies in its size. It is so flat that it can be easily slipped into a jean pocket effortlessly and without causing discomfort to the owner.
Droid phones run on Google’s Android system and can handle streaming music, FM radio, video, personal and corporate email, GPS directions, financial market data, news, sports, and much more. Verizon provides the wireless service for the Droid, and the Droid X runs on a 1.0GZ Texas Instrument OMAP processor and 512 RAM. It has a removable 1570 mAh battery that holds a charge well. The Droid is a very powerful tool and enhances the usefulness of a phone for the owner.
Iphone 4
The iPhone 4 is no small thing to review. It has many improvements over the previous iPhone 3GS and was well received by die-hard Apple fans who sometimes lined up a week in advance to be among the first to get the new iPhone. It has a 3.5-inch screen that offers a density of 326ppi with a contrast ratio of 800:1. The iPhone 4 weighs about 4.8 ounces and is 0.48 inches thick. Like the Droid, it can be easily slipped into a pocket without causing the owner any discomfort.
The front of the device is made from end-to-end tough glass, giving the phone a very elegant look. It has a headphone slot and a front facing camera, while the volume buttons are on the side of the device. At the bottom of the device you have we have the speaker, the microphone and the connector port. On the back is the Apple logo, a five-megapixel camera and its companion LED flash.
The operating system for this device is iOS 4 with tons of features like the video calling feature also known as Face Time. iPhone also has access to Apple’s iTunes platform and iPhone apps, iMovie, iBook, and thousands of other phone apps.
iPhone 4g is powered by Apple’s custom A4 chip, similar to the one used in the iPad, and is faster than its predecessor. The iPhone provides a different entry point for cost-conscious customers and currently has 2 hard drive storage capacities, one 16GB and the other 32GB. Other features include a quad-band HSUPA chip, Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, and wireless connectivity with WiFi 802.11n.
