I think being a woman is a gift. We are wonderful and unique creatures. We have spirit, beauty, patience, skills, time management and humor like no other. However, being a woman can be extremely stressful.

All women have stress.

You can be a corporate woman who has to deal with the big guys. You have stress.

It may be a woman in school dealing with financial pressures. You have stress.

It may be a mom who works outside the home and cannot be with her children as often as she wants. You have stress.

You can be a homeschool mom and have to deal with the stress that comes with it. Uh … you have stress too!

No matter what your story is, if you are a woman, chances are that you are stressed or, at least, stress is not strange to you.

Women are more likely to die from heart disease than men, and women have more stress than men. This is simply a fact of life. We can let it get the best of us or we can fight and win!
Eliminate stress for all women:

Mental vacation. Find a quiet place. Even if that means leaving the house every now and then to sit on a park bench (with a mace in hand, of course … LOL!). Close your eyes and see yourself in a wonderful and spectacular place. Relax there for a few minutes and take a deep breath.

Physical aptitude. Exercise is a great stress buster and heart healthy. We all have time if we make time. Even a 15 minute walk around the mall will work! Do some physical activity in your daily life.

Eat well. Too much sugar and caffeine is not good for anyone. Drink more water and eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. You’ll feel better and maybe even lose some unwanted fat. Oh, and drink lots of H2O! Nothing is better for a woman’s body, skin and aging than water! Oh, and don’t steal from the wonder of chocolate!

Just say no! Restrict alcohol consumption. It is not good for you in usual large quantities. Yes, a glass of red wine several times a week is heart healthy … but not a bottle. LOL! Also, stop smoking if you do. It is a sure way to achieve a shorter lifespan for women. Take down those nasty money-stealing, health-stealing sticks! Your lungs will thank you!

Find a hobby or sport. Do something just for yourself. Something that you like and enjoy. Don’t do something for anyone but yourself! We all have something we “wish we had time for.” Take your time. You only live once. You better make time. Life is not worth living if you never get anything for yourself!

Women, make the most of your lives. You have a life to live and it is not a soap opera! It’s a gift and you should enjoy it! Just say NO to stress!
