Another very important aspect of a healthy weight loss plan is regular physical activity and exercise. The exercises provided the added stimulation to burn great calories, build lean muscle, and tone the body, all of which healthy food simply can’t do.

The first hurdle most people face when trying to lose weight is the age old question: What is the best cardiovascular exercise for weight loss? After all, there are many different forms of cardio, so this can be confusing.

Now my standard answer to this question would normally be something along the lines of “the one you like to do and the one you will keep the most”. One of the biggest problems many people face is that they have all the right intentions from the start, but do very boring cardio routines that will never last long in the long run or provide any real tangible results.

I think one of the most important parts of exercise is finding something you enjoy doing and something you stick with. Consistency is the key as over time this is what makes the difference.

In terms of cardio options, there are plenty of things to do. You can go the classic gym route and opt for the treadmill, bike, stair climber, or elliptical. All of these can provide a good workout that can be part of a plan.

There are many cardio-type exercise classes to choose from today, including Zumba, bokwa, and step aerobics, and various combinations of these types of clothing. All of these provide their own benefits.

The key part of the exercise is the intensity, without high intensity there will be enough calories burned and there will not be much benefit from the exercise.

The intensity with which a person can train will depend entirely on his current physical condition, his current weight and his health conditions. The key is to start small or light and work until at least 30 minutes of exercise can be achieved without having to take a break. This will provide the ideal setting for weight loss.

If someone is morbidly obese, then a light bike workout will be the best type of workout to start with. Alternatively, brisk jogging on the streets is another option.

I think there are 3 cardio exercises that really come out on top when it comes to better overall fitness and weight loss. Running, swimming, and jumping are considered some of the most effective calorie burners for a training program.

All 3 of these exercises are full body workouts and provide a good level of conditioning as well as the calorie burn factor and other health benefits.

This all comes down to choice at the end of the day, the main thing is consistency. It’s a good idea to mix things up once in a while too.

As a personal recommendation I would invest in a good quality jump rope as it is one of the best items for a fitness enthusiast and can really get you a good all round workout. There are endless variations with the jumps, so you can mix things up a lot. Many fitness professionals claim that jumping is 3 times more powerful than jogging, so if you want a time-saving workout, jumping is a great option.

As a general rule of thumb, anyone trying to lose weight should do some form of cardio about 3/4 times per week to help improve a program and shed a few extra pounds.
