If you asked many people what their favorite productions are, no doubt each would have their own individual lists. You would be surprised how many animations would be included. So who said cartoons are for kids? They are something that touches the hearts of young people and adults of both sexes.

So why is there so much interest in animation? What is it about them that makes them so popular? These are important questions for animation producers because knowing the correct answers is what makes it a blockbuster.

In the top five:

It should come as no surprise that the 3 Shrek movies had a place each with Shrek 2 (3D) being the latest. Then Finding Nemo came second and the Lion King third. Much of the reason for the fame of these top five is due to the excellent story each told. In addition to the main stars who were chosen for it.

In the Top Ten:

The top 5 are followed by the Incredibles, Monsters Inc. Toy Story 2, Cars and Aladdin. All of these 5 had one thing in common: they were all made in 3D. From the looks of the list, it would appear that 3D animation is favored and contributes to the overall success.

Among the top fifteen.

Here you will find Ratatouille, Happy Feet, Ice Age: Meltdown, Madagascar, and of course Toy Story. Again, all in 3D and each one has a great story.

The rest of the top twenty:

Finally we have the Simpsons Movie, The Polar Express, The Ice Age, Beauty and the Beast, and at the end of the list but no less significant is Tarzan. Although the Simpsons movie was in 2D, its claim to fame was due to the well-known and appreciated television series.

Of all the factors that make a cartoon successful, probably the most important is the plot. This is followed by jokes. People have enough negativity in their life and want to laugh a little. Then the cast also has a special role in pushing a cartoon through the ranks. It is they who make it attractive and interesting. Characters should be unique and memorable, as this is what the audience relates to. This is what makes proper voiceover casting so important. So when all these factors are combined with 3D technology, it is sure to be a hit. Any cartoon that can make it into the top 20 has certainly earned its way there by combining all the needs we’ve outlined here in the right combination.

In general, when it comes to the best critics, it’s the kids. You can bet that if the kids like it and the parents second, then there will be a new cartoon on its way to fame. It returns again to our claim that age does not play a real role in the audience for a successful cartoon.
