Some background information: I am a forgiven Christian who before I lived a very promiscuous homosexual lifestyle, and due to God’s grace and religious convictions I am now sober and celibate.
I was recently involved in a strong disagreement with a militant homosexual (not all homosexuals are militants) who was misrepresenting (to his own destruction) the perfect example of the pure male bond between David and Jonathan.
Let the following discussion offer an idea of that biblical account. I quote him and then I reply and want it to be known that I really wish him all the best in this life and the next:
Quote: Look again at the story of David and Jonathan. What you have here are clearly two gay men
Because you are pervert, you immediately see them as perverted like you. They represent the best in male bonding that is pure, sinless, and sexless.
Quote: … who are described by the Bible, itself, as having “entered into a covenant” under God, “between the seed of each one”
GREAT TRACK right there! Both were heterosexual and married and had children / seed, that Jonathan, knowing that God had decreed that David should become king, hoped for the best so that his descendants / descendants, who would otherwise be rivals, would be forgiven and treated as lovingly as David and Jonathan, continuing their true love – NO SEX!
Quote: … and against the wishes of the father of one of the young men, who cursed the other young man saying that his son chose him “to the confusion of his mother’s nakedness.”
Read it in context. As for the confused Saul, Jonathan was undermining his own family’s dynasty for the House of David. That is why he speaks of the nakedness of his mother, NOT the nakedness of Jonathan or David!
Quote: Upon the death of one of them, the survivor exclaims that her love was so great that it “surpassed the love of women.”
Go see My beautiful lady and understand the question, “Why can’t a woman be more like a man?” it was not a homosexual question. Men, like women, have an understanding between us that can transcend sexual love.
Quote: That is not platonic love. They are not two best friends. That is not heterosexual male behavior.
THREE STRIKES YOU ARE OUT!
Now you know the plain truth and you can thank God and let me set you free from your deceptions, your misunderstanding, or you can revert to your traditional perverted darkness and get worse (John 3:19). I encourage you to see it in this new and proper LIGHT and reject Satan’s strange ideas about perfectly heterosexual men.
